5 BLUNTS!!!

If you were brought up in the mid-90's like I was then you probably remember when lyrics and credibility were the most important characteristics of an artist to hip-hop fans. Now with artists relying on catchy hooks and accompanying dance moves we forget about the real essence of our music. With that in mind here comes the latest release from FOE. The FOE BOYZ's new album "Back To The Essence" brings us all back to the time when hip-hop legends ruled. Group members Shi$e, Ron G, T-Dot and producer Kiza give us what we've been looking for while still appealing to the youngins who never heard of groups like Mobb Deep, CNN, and the original Terror Squad. Top to bottom the album is solid in both lyrical material and swag. What takes it to the next level in my book is the superior production from Kiza. Crafting melodic samples like the beat for "Glamorous", the lead single, makes it easy for the BOYZ to boast about living the life of superstars, while tracks like "Die for the FOE" bring us that hard edgy hip hop that we've been missing since 50's "Get Rich or Die Trying". Other notable songs include "Say U Wanna G", another single in the making and "Be Me" a return to the classic boom bap of Gangstar. Plain and simple the FOE BOYZ do not dissapoint. With songs for the ladies, the streets and bars to successfully speak to both this album is a must listen.
