Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder remained undefeated Saturday night (July 16) with a TKO win over Chris Arreola at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL., during the main event of Premier Boxing Champions.
Wilder, dished out a beating to Arreola, dropping him in the fourth round and nearly stopping him, but the fight continued on.
By the eighth round, Arreola’s face was swollen and bloody with his left eye nearly closed. Once the bell rang, his longtime trainer Henry Ramirez asked the referee to call it.
Amazingly, Wilder broke his right hand and tore his bicep sometime in the fourth round, but still dominated the challenger for the remainder of the fight. After, he showed his arm to ringside media, who said his biceps were badly disfigured.
