The Maryland Transportation Authority said 55 vehicles were involved in a pileup on northbound I-95 between Caton Avenue and Washington Boulevard. By 11:45 a.m., 40 of the vehicles still needed to be cleared from the roadway.

A gas tanker truck overturned and fell off the elevated portion of I-95 in downtown Baltimore near the Washington Boulevard exit around 5:30 a.m. The tanker went over the jersey wall and burst into flames.
